How it works
Stripe automatically deducts processing fees from each transaction before depositing funds to your account. Fees vary based on payment method, products used, and additional services. This calculator uses standard US pricing and provides estimates only. Actual fees may differ based on card type, international transactions, currency conversion, and your specific business setup. High-volume businesses may qualify for custom pricing. Contact Stripe sales for accurate quotes.

Frequently asked questions
Which regions are supported?
This calculator uses US pricing presets by default. Stripe fees vary significantly by region, card type, and currency. You can manually adjust fees for other markets, but results are estimates based on the US market. For accurate international pricing, consult Stripe's regional pricing documentation or contact their sales team.
Are results exact?
No. Stripe fees vary by card type (credit vs debit), card brand (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), currency, international vs domestic transactions, disputes, chargebacks, and other factors. This calculator provides estimates based on standard US pricing. Treat all results as approximations. Contact Stripe directly for exact pricing for your specific business and transaction mix.
Are subscriptions supported?
Yes. Enter your recurring transaction amount and average monthly transaction count to see estimated monthly Stripe fees for subscription and SaaS businesses. The calculator accounts for Stripe Billing fees if you enable that product, helping you understand your total monthly Stripe costs.
Do you store pricing data?
No. All calculations are performed locally in your browser using JavaScript. We don't store, transmit, or have access to any of your pricing, transaction data, or calculation results. Your data never leaves your device.
Why is Stripe pricing so complex?
Stripe offers many payment methods (cards, wallets, bank transfers, BNPL, crypto), products (Checkout, Billing, Terminal, Invoicing), and additional services (Radar, Tax, Sigma). Each has different pricing. Fees also vary by region, currency, card type, and business volume. This complexity allows businesses to choose only what they need and potentially reduce costs, but makes it difficult to determine exact fees without detailed transaction data and business context.
Can I get exact Stripe fees for my business?
Exact fees depend on your specific transaction mix, payment methods accepted, products used, business volume, and geographic markets. High-volume businesses (typically $1M+ annual processing) may qualify for custom interchange-plus (IC+) pricing with volume discounts. Contact Stripe sales for a detailed quote based on your business needs and historical transaction data.
What payment methods does Stripe support?
Stripe supports 100+ payment methods globally including credit/debit cards, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link), buy now pay later (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay), bank transfers (ACH, SEPA), real-time payments (Pix, iDEAL), and stablecoins. Each payment method has different fees and availability by region.
What's the difference between online and in-person pricing?
Online card payments (via Checkout, Payment Links, or Elements) are typically 2.9% + 30¢ in the US. In-person card payments (via Terminal) are typically 2.7% + 5¢ in the US. In-person rates are lower because card-present transactions have lower fraud risk. Additional fees may apply for international cards, currency conversion, or specific features.
What is Radar and should I use it?
Radar is Stripe's machine learning-powered fraud prevention system. Basic Radar is included free with standard pricing accounts. Radar for Fraud Teams (2-7¢ per transaction) adds advanced features like custom rules, manual review tools, and detailed fraud insights. It's recommended for businesses with higher fraud risk or those wanting more control over fraud prevention.
How do regional pricing differences work?
Stripe pricing varies significantly by country and region. For example, European card payments may use different fee structures, and some payment methods are region-specific (like iDEAL in Netherlands or Pix in Brazil). Currency conversion adds 1% when charging in a currency different from your settlement currency. This calculator is built around US market pricing and may not accurately reflect fees in other regions.
